Diary of a Demented Store Owner

This Blog Thingy

I've been been writing a diary, or 'blog' as they call it today, since June 2003.
I sometimes have a hard time believing that- gas was 48 cents a litre, solder was $5.99/lb, I didn't even know Gary Brown and we had a choice amongst wholesale suppliers in Canada.
Blog software has made it way too easy to do this diary thingy.
Posts can happen instantly and news gets passed on quicker and more frequently, the layout is pretty cool, and the ability to scroll through past posts is quite easy.
But, more importantly, it allows you a chance to add your own comments!
Agree or disagree, you are invited to offer your views and the best thing about this is that you can do so anonymously if you like. It's up to you to decide whether your comments get directed to me privately or to the blog's public viewing area- you choose.
Secondly, you are invited to subscribe to this blog and get all my rants delivered to your mailbox whenever they appear here. Just make use of the subscribe button at the bottom of this page.

2003. Gee, I think I remember 2003. In 2003 I didn't even know what fused glass WAS, much less do it. (Hey, man... like do you, you know, do glass? I've got this source up in Canada...)

If it wasn't for my cousins Gary Braun (RCMP, ret.) and Garrison Browne (3 - 5 years, and I swear he didn't do it), I'd have never found out about Mikey. And interesting clear liquids that LOOK like water but have a rather strong punch. Not to mention Bloody Caesars. Oh, wait, I just mentioned them. Sorry.

Not to mention (mentioning it again) a glass shop that follows my small-business philosophy: Don't Screw the Customer.

So...

Add Your Comments. Start a "Ban Gary Brown From This Blog" fan group. Remember... if Mikey writes a blog entry in the Canadian Wilderness and nobody screams, did he really write it?

With regards from your Honourary Canadian Territory to the South,

Hey, Mr. 'I Flunked Geography" Brown, since when is Minnesota the 'Territory to the South'?

Uh, south of Ontario (as in Thunder Bay) and Manitoba (as in Winnipeg)? We (your long-lost colonial brothers. And sorry about that war, eh?) do share this long, albeit soggy, border. And we often ARE confused for Canadians when we travel abroad. A mistake that during the last administration we were all too willing not to correct.

Oh dear, sweet Mr. Brown, so wise and yet still so naive.
You see, Toronto is the centre (CDN spelling) of our universe, making you our Northern neighbour (again CDN spelling).
Sorry for burning down your White House.
Funny, we get mistaken for Swiss when we're abroad...

As in "SwissSteak"?

But, but... if you are the centre (sic.) of the universe, doesn't that make us BOTH your north AND southern companion? Not to mention east AND west companion? (Oh, wait, I just mentioned it.)

Y'r hmbl & obt. etc. etc.
G. Brown
