You Meet the Nicest People in the Witness Protection Program

Met Jennifer (see pic above) and her sidekick, Chatty Pam, yesterday. Turns out she's opening a store with the focus on fusing today. She sent us an incredibly boring write-up of her business which Mikey felt would inflict too much pain on his readers, but wanting to help Jennifer promote her new business he's edited it down- here's the details-

Her company, Home and Haven has expanded into a glass studio and store in an outbuilding on her property in Kitchener, allowing her to spend more time at home with her husband and children, her true inspirations. Please be welcome at the Grand Opening of Home & Haven, Friday, July 4th, from 5-8 p.m. (but fun people can stay later!)

"Turns out she's opening a store with the focus on fusing today."

What about fusing tomorrow? Perhaps fusing yesterday?

So appropriate to be opening it up on our national holiday. Oh, wait. Sorry, my bad. Other side of the border. Hey... but I lifted a Molson on the recently passed national holiday that IS yours. And a darn good holiday it is!

Obsequiously yours,
G. Brown (no last "e")

Ah, gary Brown, my nemesis! How I missed you these last few weeks. Perhaps it's time you shared with our readers as to who or what you are?

Obsequiously you write? Obviously a Milwaukee beer drinker, as Molson's would leave you short of funds for the deluxe thesaurus,
Mikey

Been out of town... at the GAS conference in Portland. I did all sorts of volunteer work including a marathon 6-hour reprogramming of the volunteer spreadsheet into a database program so it was usable to Real People. Well, as "real people" as a convention centre full of glass people can be.

Who am I? Hmm... didn't The Doctor say that when he stepped out of the Tardis after his last regeneration? I am the geek who discovered glass Late in Life (not that being in his late 50's is "late" in life. At least I hope not.) I was raised by a group of feral cats in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey who taught me the rudiments of catching small creatures and opening beer bottles without the use of an opposable thumb. I've wandered through being a geologist (ooo...Pretty Rocks!), a Tupperware salesman (blessedly short-lived), and a computer geek (oooo...Pretty Lights!). Did I mention the trombone? Oh... well then... "Trombone."

I currently reside a kilometre from downtown Saint Paul in the US's largest Victorian historic district of Summit-Ramsey Hill with my beloved spouse (currently in France honing her French skills), two cats, an 18-year old step son (don't get me going....), and three kilns. Ten year plan is to sell the software business (inquire within), sell the house (ditto.), and move to Portland where I've told Lani & her minions that I expect a cushy job hustling BE glass to the huddled masses yearning to fuse (you reading this Lani???)

Of course, Mikey, I may pop in unexpectedly into your Toronto palace sometime later this summer. That is, if the Prius actually does show up when it's supposed to. You'll not see me. I'll be as a shadow. Well, actually more like BE 002130 Clear & White Streaky (available from FIG for a modest fee. Inquire within.) (Shadow-like qualities were another one of the Clever Skills picked up from the aforementioned feral cats of the Pine Barrens.)

Well, the kiln awaits setup of an experimental piece, and the yard yearns for the yanking of weeds.

Y'r hmbl & o'bt. s'vnt
(name redacted)

PS. Hey, cool "confirmation" word down there. "SZEXC". Is that some sort of vanity license plate spelling??

PPS. "Milwaukee" beer drinker? Pshaw. I Brew My Own. 1990-ish 2nd place US winner in the AHA for my IPA and 1st place the following year for my Porter.
